How Sumburst protects children: no adverts, no chat with strangers, parent-gated purchases, and what we collect from a child's account.
The short version
No adverts. No chat with strangers. No links out of a game, and nothing gets bought without a parent gate. What your child does in a game stays inside your family or classroom account.
What a child's account holds
A display name, which doesn't have to be their real name, and progress data. If a teacher sets up a student account, it doesn't need an email address at all.
We do not build advertising profiles, and there is nothing on the site asking a child for personal details.
Parent controls
A parent or teacher owns the account and can see progress, change the grade level, and delete the account and its data at any time. Purchases are behind a parent gate.
