Plain english

Privacy policy

What Sumburst collects, why, how long it is kept, and how to have it deleted. Written plainly for parents.

What we collect

To make an account we need an email address and a display name. Playing creates progress data: scores, coins, which topics have been practised. If you subscribe, Stripe handles the payment and holds the billing record. We never see your card number.

We don't sell data, we don't run ad networks, and there are no advertising trackers on the site.

Why we collect it

To keep progress between sessions, to show a parent how their child is doing, to send account emails such as verification and password resets, and to take payment where there is a subscription.

How long it is kept

For as long as the account exists. Delete the account and the progress data goes with it. Billing records are kept as long as the law requires us to keep them.

Your choices

Every email that isn't essential has an unsubscribe link. The only ones you can't turn off are things like password resets, which you'd want anyway. Want to see what we hold, or have it deleted? Email support@sumburst.com.

About this page

We've written this to be read rather than to cover every base, so it's a summary, not a legal document. If you need the formal version for GDPR or the Australian Privacy Act, email us and we'll send it.
