Monsters shuffle toward your tower, each one carrying an equation. Answer it and you cast a spell at them. Take too long and they're on top of you.
Get three right in a row and Overdrive kicks in, doubling your gold. So being quick pays, but taking a moment to think never costs you anything.
That gold goes on upgrades and new towers in the Armoury. It's the bit that keeps kids coming back, which is really the point: recall only sticks if they keep doing it.
There are three difficulty settings, from single digit sums up to two step problems, so it doesn't get outgrown in a month.
How to play
- Monsters walk toward your tower carrying equations.
- Answer the equation a monster is carrying and you cast a spell at it.
- Three right in a row triggers Overdrive, which doubles the gold you earn.
- Spend gold in the Armoury on upgrades and new towers.
- Pick your difficulty at the start. It runs from single digit sums up to two step problems.

A few tips
- Overdrive is worth chasing, but a wrong answer to keep a streak going costs more than it saves.
- Upgrade one tower properly before adding a second.
- If the questions feel easy after a week, move the difficulty up rather than grinding.

Is it really free?
Yes. Element Spellcaster runs in your browser, there's nothing to download, and there are no adverts anywhere. Make a free account and it'll save progress and throw in the starter worksheet pack. Paying lifts the daily play limit, and that's all it does. You can't buy your way to being better at the game.
